Ghana National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) Membership is used by the majority of Ghanaians for health care needs. The most annoying thing is to arrive at a health facility only to be told your membership has expired.

This can happen at your blindside as we tend to forget things we don’t use regularly. In order for this not to befall you on a day of emergency, it is advisable to check your membership status yourself, simply using your phone.

Use the steps below to check your NHIS Membership validity

  • Dial *929# on your phone – Applicable to all Ghanian networks (Glo, MTN, Vodafone & AirtelTigo)
  • Choose Option 1
  • Select NHIS Card
  • Enter Your Membership Number
  • Your Validity Status will be displayed to you
  • Done
